In 1887 the brilliant physicists Albert A. Michelson and Edward W. Morley performed the experiment that goes by their names, with the intent of detecting and quantifying the “luminiferous aether,” the unseen medium that was thought to permeate all of space and provide for the transmission of light waves.   But that is not all the aether did.  The concept had been around for thousands of years.  In ancient Greek mythology it was what the gods breathed, and it was personified as Aether, the son of Erebus and Nyx.  Medieval alchemists referred to it as the quintessence, or fifth element, and by the 18^th century, physical models known as “aether theories,” used the concept to account for the observation of forces acting at a distance.  In an early work, Newton had used the aether to describe planetary motion and Einstein had even suggested that his own model, which had replaced these theories, could be thought of as an aether, because it showed that the empty space between objects had its own special properties.

            Meanwhile, in the world of non-materialistic thinking, the ether (modern spelling) was the mechanism by which prayers worked.  It helped to hypothesize how thoughts could act at a distance; how the intelligent energy which pervades all of space could respond to my prayer for you when you were a thousand miles away.  And in metaphysics, the ether and the soul were virtually the same concept.  As a consequence, when the Michelson-Morley Experiment disproved the ether, it simultaneously sounded the death knell for the human soul.

           Every school on the planet today teaches the Standard Model of Science.  Therefore, everyone who has had a high school education and beyond, has been taught that this is a mechanical Universe.  But this is actually an intelligent Universe.  There is one source of all energy and all intelligence which we identify as empty space.  That One Source exists inside everything that is created.  Now let’s add to that the simple observation that everything in the Universe is in motion.  Nothing is truly at rest anywhere.  We were taught that the Rock of Gibraltar, for instance, hadn’t moved in a million years.  But the truth is, it never stops moving as long as the Earth is rotating on its axis, or moving about the Sun in its orbit; as the Solar system rushes through the space of our surrounding Milky Way Galaxy; while it moves at fantastic speeds in this ever expanding Universe.

            Where is the energy for all this motion coming from?  My own discovery in 1979 was that the source of the energy that moves particles through space is space itself.  Since everything is made up of particles, it must be that whatever moves them moves everything else.  Sure enough, the space that moves the particles in atomic structure is identical to the space that moves the planets and the stars in galactic structure.  The space that moves everything has created everything and that includes intelligence.  Therefore, the emptiness of space is the way we humans perceive the Creator.         

            Or as Jesus put it, “Know ye not that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?”  The real cause of global warming is as follows.

            Our being consists of spirit, soul, and body.  The spirit of life within us is the Divine Mind.  The soul is our consciousness, which develops out of inter-actions with the Spirit that is within us, and the outer world of manifestation.  Our body is the form of expression of both spirit and soul.  We are created in the image and likeness of the Creator, which means we are essentially spiritual beings, alive forever, with an active link to infinite wisdom.  The Universe is infinite intelligence.  It has no beginning and it goes on forever.  But without this spiritual link, scientific thinkers needed to explain where the energy comes from that keeps everything in the Universe moving, so they invented the Big Bang.  With that comes the beginning of infinity, which is an absurd conjecture; which is why their theory can account for only about 30% of the energy that is being measured.  They identify the missing 70% as “dark energy.” 

           The Science of Space has a different interpretation.  Our Mother Earth represents the collective soul of humanity.  She feeds us and keeps us alive, and we can think of her as the life center which sustains us as we evolve.  The source of all life and all intelligence is also the Life Force.  Modern science does not understand “dark energy” because it is disregarding the laws of life.  Not under-standing the Life Force of the organism, in this case the planet Earth, forces it to be drawn away from the life center.  This allows the natural depletion of the life currents.   And that is the primary cause of global warming.
